The mostly professional bio:

Jenica P. Rogers is Director of Libraries at the State University of New York at Potsdam, coming from a background in cataloging, collection development, and staff training.

Jenica serves as the chief administrator of the Crumb and Crane Libraries, with responsibilities that include short-term and strategic planning, fiscal management, fundraising and donor development, representing the libraries to outside constituents, and supervision of 24 FTE employees spanning NYS Civil Service employees, professional staff, and librarians.

Though she is taking a break from presenting at conferences while she settles into her new position, Jenica’s current professional interests include fostering and promoting collaborative collection development among like libraries; creating accountability and reliability in library budgeting; advocating for rational implementation of emerging technologies in academic libraries; and nurturing and mentoring new library professionals.

Jenica received a President’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service in 2009, and she was named as one of Library Journal’s Movers and Shakers for 2009, but thinks it was equally cool to be a Library Society of the World Shover and Maker.

I’m (still) a librarian who hates talking about herself in the third person, I’m a technophile, I’m the boss, I’m a gamer, I’m (still) faculty, I’m a sci-fi nerd, I’m a cataloger, I’m a knitter, the internet owns my soul, and some day, I’m going to take over the world.  Or be crowned Queen of the Library.  Either one will work.
